when he opened the gift, his eyes lit up like a kid. he almost ran to the sink to fill it with water and put it into the freezer. i later got a pic-text of his drink featuring the new cube. the cube isn't perfectly clear, but it's good for old-fashioned and other whisky/bourbon drinks that don't need to be diluted excessively.

These cube molds work fine to produce huge ice cubes. My only issue is that they seem to crack...and by crack, I mean before your pet them in a drink. Perhaps due to the temperature of my freezer and the rate of freeze(?), but I suspect it's more likely to do with dissolved O2 in the water ultimately causing internal pressure once trapped inside the huge cube and pushing outward.I'm preferential to perfect, aesthetically-pleasing, clear cubes in my Manhattans, Old Fashioneds, scotch on the rocks, etc. Without going through crazy acrobatics in a chest freezer to get the water to directionally freeze, you're stuck with opaque areas in your ice cubes and cracking.Too bad, because the size and ease of use is acceptable.If you aren't OCD about the aesthetic experience of your cocktail like I am, these will probably be great. I found that the smaller sized Tovolo silicone ice cube trays make a very nice cube.

Ginormous cube (at least for a drink). Fun to make, this mold takes the work out of unmolding (although I still had to run some water on it to make it easier to remove). People seem to love it, especially when you suspend stuff in the cube. Cleans up easy in top rack of dishwasher.

As an fanatical amateur mixologist, these bad boys were a must have. I got them as a gift and I use them frequently. It's awesome for shaking and if you have big enough tumblers it makes for a nice touch with certain cocktails. The only drawback is that it can be a little tough to get the ice cubes out, but it's nothing a little warm water and elbow grease can't fix.

They work as described. The only issue I have run into is that these cubes don't fit in most whisky glasses. Other than that I couldn't be happier. I would buy the smaller size if I had to do it over again.

Pretty big but works. Make sure you know the glass you want to use will accommodate these. I use on my boat in a red solo cup. Barely fits but keeps my drink cool without overly watering down. At home I use the round ones and they fit nicely in my highball.

These things are great but be aware that the ice cubes are very large, like "it won't fit in you glass" large. Also, they will not make clear or un-cracked cubes - the cubes are too big. Otherwise, they are literally foolproof and easy to use.

I was talked into getting these for drinks since they are larger than normal and they melt slower and don't dilute your drinks. They work great. There are different sizes for different drinks and glasses.

As the name suggests these are HUGE, so you will need a decent sized rocks glass to hold one. But they work really well, melt slowly due to the relatively low surface area, and look really neat. Would highly recommend
